DCLTA is a registered charity mandated to create affordable housing for low income Denman residents.
Our current project—Pepper Lane—will provide eight ideally located rental units for low income islanders age 65 and older.
Kudos to the community for raising the $100,000 needed to purchase the land and for contributing labour, advice and ideas.
We are inviting membership renewals and donations to contribute to a general fund that covers government fees and unexpected costs. See DCLTA’s new lockbox tray outside Abraxas Bookstore for donation/membership forms.
Each $5.00 membership and/or donation comes with a raffle ticket entered for a handcrafted rug by Donna Millen. The rug is one hundred percent wool from Denman Island sheep with yarn homespun and then dyed by hand. The design was derived from ancient Navaho and tapestry techniques. The rug measures 28 inches by 46 inches (see photo).
Also watch for the membership/donation form on the reverse side of the December 3rd Grapevine insert summarizing DCLTA’s work in 2020.
To renew your membership or become a new member or simply to donate, fill out the form and chose one of four payment options. As a charity, the form helps DCLTA issue a tax receipt.
