Attention Craft Fair Vendors

APPLICATIONS OPEN SEPTEMBER 5th 2025

We’re excited to announce that applications for our beloved craft fair will be open from September 5th to October 15th. The application form is on the website denmancraftfair.com and for those who do not have computer access, paper applications will be available in the freepost at Abraxas under Craft Fair. Filled-out paper applications should be returned in the Craft Fair folder.

Over the past four decades, the Christmas craft fair has become a cherished tradition on our island—an event that everyone looks forward to—but we also need to make a few changes that we believe will enhance the experience for both vendors and shoppers.

NEW UNDERCOVER SPACES

This year we will be using our amazing new covered area for outside vendors, such as metalworkers, furniture makers, and artisans with larger items such as baskets. This will give them the space they deserve to display their work.

The covered area will also include a dedicated stage for buskers, complete with ample seating, which will allow everyone to enjoy hot drinks or meals while they listen to fabulous local musicians. There will also be heat! We have purchased four outdoor propane heaters to create a cozy atmosphere for both vendors and visitors.

REVAMP OF THE INSIDE LAYOUT

In order to improve the flow around the Activity Centre stage and the Hall stage, we will be revamping the layout of both these venues. This year we will have two staircases at each stage. This will eliminate the bottlenecks we have experienced in previous years and allow more people to move easily around the stage areas.

All this means that we will be creating a totally new map, so when you fill out your application this year, please provide as much detail as possible regarding your booth’s specific needs—whether it’s proximity to a wall, access to power, or wheelchair accessibility. We will take all of these factors into account when creating the updated map.

We are committed to meeting everyone’s needs, and we are confident that, with patience and understanding, everything will come together harmoniously.

CHANGES TO THE FEE STRUCTURE

This year, table pricing will be a flat fee based on the size of the table. After consulting with numerous vendors, it seems that having clarity on expenses upfront would be a welcome change as you will no longer have to do complicated math after two long days of vending. As well, this new fee system will allow us to access more advertising because we will have the funds up front.

We understand that the former percentage-based system was created for inclusivity and we remain committed to nurturing that spirit. To do this we will offer some smaller table options and, for vendors based on the island, some financial subsidies. There is a section on the application form where local vendors can apply for a subsidy.

Fees must be paid in advance in order to reserve your table.

FOR THE KIDS

We haven’t forgotten about the kids! We will continue to provide a free, supervised kids’ table for children ages 0-12, and this year we will also offer a ‘youth entrepreneur’ option for ages 12-18, which will allow our next generation of crafters to have their own 4-ft tables at a reduced rate. There is a separate application form for kids table and Youth entrepreneur available on the website and also on paper at the school. Filled-out paper applications should be returned in the Craft Fair folder at the Freepost at Abraxas.
