About

cropped-denman_island_craft_fair_about

For four decades, the Denman Island Craft Fair has offered a feast for the senses, a vibrant alternative to mass production, and a showcase for some of the best arts and crafts in the region. Innovative newcomers mix with world-class artists, including some of the original founders, now seasoned artisans who inspire, teach and mentor the up-and-coming generation.

Over 80 vendors fill two spacious halls, there’s fresh home-made lunches, decadent desserts, specialty coffees, a bustline outdoor market area, and plenty of island hospitality. Visitors can leave their cars at Buckley Bay, walk onto the ferry, and take our free shuttle bus up the hill to Denman’s tiny but charming “downtown,” which is entirely taken over by the fair for the weekend.

Visitors come back year after year to enjoy holiday shopping that is kind to the earth, rooted in community, and steeped in human connection. In our world of mass production, this is a chance to buy artisanal products directly from the talented folks who made them. Even for those who just want to browse, the fair is basically one big arts and crafts gallery!
